Nobody explains money to you.
School teaches you to count it, banks to save it, ads to spend it. Textbooks give you the functions: medium of exchange, store of value, unit of account. Nobody asks what it is.
I didn’t ask that question until Bitcoin forced it. I found the Austrian school of economics the same way you find anything school leaves out — on my own.
What I found: money is a protocol for human action. Not a thing. A system of coordination. A shared language for expressing value between strangers. You can use it your whole life without ever seeing it that way.
The test for real understanding: can you build the concept from scratch, for someone who has never seen it? Not quote a definition. Start from zero.
Most people pass the money test every day at the register. Very few could pass it on paper.
