It Just Needs to Grow

The threat is not competition. It is gravity.

Moda launched last week. AI-powered presentations. Two million views. By the time you read this, the same feature will ship as a default in the tools you already pay for.

That is one failure mode.

OpenClaw went from zero to 247,000 GitHub stars in months. Local AI agent, runs on your machine, connects to your files and apps. The most viral open-source AI project of the year.

OpenAI hired the creator last month.

The project stays open source. True. Beside the point. The neutrality that made it valuable is now a technicality.

Two failure modes. One pattern: foundation providers do not need to compete with the layer above them. They absorb it, hire it, or make it irrelevant as a side effect of shipping.

I have built this from both sides. The hardware that runs locally under your control. And the cloud service that runs it for you. I know which one scales.

The foundation does not compete. It exerts gravity.
