The Wrong Side of the Knowledge Economy

You are not a participant in the knowledge economy. You are the feedstock.

Everyone wants to work in the knowledge economy. Almost nobody asks which side of it they’re on.

Google knows what you search for, fear, want, and avoid. Facebook knows who you love, what you argue about, and what keeps you scrolling at midnight. Amazon knows what you bought, what you considered, and what you almost bought. The knowledge these companies hold is detailed, behavioral, and worth hundreds of billions.

They didn’t generate it. You did. For free.

The question is who accumulates the knowledge. In surveillance capitalism, the answer is the platform. You generate the raw material and call it participation. The platform processes it into intelligence and calls it a service.

You are not a participant in the knowledge economy. You are the feedstock.

Running BTCPay, self-hosting your tools, owning your subscriber list, these aren’t just technical choices. They’re the answer.
